Castings we make
Castings for where ordinary steel gives up
Reformers, fired heaters, kilns, crushers and reactors destroy plain steel three ways: heat, corrosion and wear. We cast the parts that hold up, plus the general steel castings around them, to your grade and standard. Here is the full range. Send a drawing for anything not shown.
Heat
Fired heaters and reformers run at 900 to 1,100 °C, where ordinary steel creeps and scales. Our heat-resistant grades hold their shape and strength.
HK40 · HH · HP-Nb · HFCorrosion
Fuel ash and process gases eat into hot metal. High chromium-nickel grades resist the attack at temperature, in refinery and petrochemical service.
50Cr-50Ni-Nb · HN · SS316Wear
Coal, clinker and ore grind steel away. Ni-hard, high-chrome and manganese grades take the abrasion at 400 to 500 BHN and keep their edge.

The signature product
The Lohman bimetallic segment
A kiln-seal casting for rotary kilns in the sponge-iron (DRI) industry, combining a tough backing with a hard wear face in a single part. It is the Lohman group's signature product, cast at Ni-Chrome, and is used across sponge-iron kilns for its long service life and reduced kiln downtime.
